LOGLINE:
A
girl named Li Hua had to save a wolf by telling the truth to her father who
believe that his son is killed by it
SYNOPSIS: the bush right in front of
him. Shang Jie fell from a slip. Li Hua saw the wolf was trying to reach her
brother, between wanting to eat him, or save him. But she got a feeling that
the wolf was trying to save him. Then the wolf disappeared, runaway flashy.

From a distance, a village headman saw Shang Jie,
his son’s death fallen from a cliff in the middle of forest. A wolf silhouette
was seen on that spot. In a short time, he sent his troops to hunt down that
wolf as a suspect. Shang Jie’s sister, Li Hua was in the scene. They were
playing near the cliff and Shang Jie was surprised on the wolf behind l her
father that Shang jie was not killed by the wolf, but he never trust her. Li
Hua ended up saving the wolf from a trap set by her father and her father was
so angry to her. He thought that she was on her own brother’s murderer. He
called her betrayal and gave her a doubt of herself. Maybe it’s right that the
wolf was trying to reach and eat him. Which side will Li hua choose? And how
will she make them believe in her?

CHARACTER BIO OF KEY
CHARACTER
Li Hua is an ordinary girl who
lived in Quang Ho Village. She has a brother, Shang Jie, and Li Wen as her
father and the village headman. She’s a nice and kind girl who can she
everything from any point of view. She believes that even wild animals maybe have
a hearts also. She doesn’t really rely on the common sense, for example if
there’s a wolf it must be dangerous. That makes her braver than she look, since
she’s a quiet person. She cannot let bad and wrong problem to be happened.
Judged from her reaction and the
way she thinks regarding of her brother’s death, she is a calm person who is
not easily angry and get tempered. She still able to think wise and right on
the track. She maybe not really a confident person, but once she know that it’s
a right thing to do, she will keep that.
RESEARCH
HACHIKO
A true story about Hachiko who would aways accompany his
master to Ueno Station in Tokyo and see his master go off to work at a local
college and would always be there when he returned in the evening. The master
one day suffers a fatal heart attack and dies at work and does not come home
that night. Not knowing what had happened, Hachiko would spend the rest of his
life at the station waiting for the master to return. Because of Hachko's
devotion to his master and how he had touched the heart of the country a statue
was erected in his honor at the station and has become a national symbol.
REFLECTION PAPER
Well,
since I like animal so much I decided working on Hachiko (A Japanese dog) true
story. I highlight only his loyalty to his master, which is, touches me so
much. I was thinking about dog’s behavior that doesn’t need your popularity,
intelligence, or money, but only love, then they will stick to you forever. I
think that is beautiful if we compared to humans.
Then
I got an idea also from Little Red Riding Hood. I know it's not a true story
but I got an inspiration from that, since it involves an evil wolf (same family
as dog). I was thinking, how about the wolf is kind and not evil one, and I
make the humans as the bad ones. Interesting.
Many
inspirations are spinning in my head even Dreamworks Movie (Brave) became my
inspiration of setting. Then I decided to make the names all from Greek and the
settings were village in the middle of forest. From all of these, with the
Hachiko as the main base, I created a new story.

TREATMENT / STORYLINE &
STORYBOARD
Shang Jie
and Li Hua were brother and sister in Quang Ho Village, playing in the middle
of the forest beside the village. In the silence of misty evening, it was a
horrible sight of their father who was the headman of the village, Li wen.
Shang Jie encountered his death; fell from a cliff far across the lake. He saw
a wolf in silhouette from the spot where his son fell down, but only a second
before it got away.
I’m Li Hua,
Shang Jie’s sister. We were travelling through the forest above the cliff when
suddenly we heard footsteps between the plants. In a short time, Shang Jie
found that it was a wolf from behind the bush. He freaked out while he steps
backward, scared. I was to late to warn him from slipping and my hand was not
fast enough to hold him back from falling down the cliff. Surprisingly, the
wolf was like trying to reach him. I was not really sure whether it wants to
eat him, or save him. The wolf looked down for a bit and it looked at me in the
eye then run away in haste, leave me stunned. I just got a feeling that the
wolf was trying to save him. If not, why didn’t it attack me? A sad, quilt, and
confusion feeling fill up my brain that I could not prevent my tears to come
down.
Soon my
father found out that Shang Jie was dead. He immediately sent his troops to
hunt for that wolf. He asked me to stay in the village, while I was trying to
tell him that Shang Jie was not killed by that wolf. I couldn’t stop myself of
sneaking and follow him, or else an innocent soul will be died… at the second
time. They set many traps around the forest and I was trying to find that wolf.
An hour had
past since the troops out to the forest. I was apart already from them, and
then I heard like a dog voice in vague. Soon I can see it was that wolf hanging
inside the net trap. Hesitate at the beginning; finally I decided to free this
creature. Well, I was surprised that wolf just ran away without looking back. I
thought I would be dead after that.
Unfortunately,
My father saw me freed the wolf and was very angry. He even called me a betrayal.
He managed the troops to keep finding the wolf, although it’s dark already and
the fog was getting thicker and thicker.
We walked
in silence. Only plants, footsteps, and cicadas are heard. Suddenly we could
hear a voice, sounded like a bear. I was realized that there’s a huge bear
behind me after my father and the troops were freaked out. It was trying to
attack me, but when it’s claws almost on my head, there’s a wolf jump to the
bear’s head. They fight and in a short time, more wolves came attack the bear.
My dad was stunned and shouted that he found the wolf; he aimed his arrow to
the wolves. I tried to stop him, but it’s to late. He released the arrow and
hit the wolf. The bear died being attacked by many wolves. One wolf died, I was
so sad when I found out in it’s eyes that it was the one who tried to save
Shang Jie and saved me from the bear.
Anger and
revenge had blind my father. The rest of the wolves were just howling to their
leader’s death. My father just realized of what he had done that time.
The scene
ended on 8 years later, in the middle of sunny forest. The wolves pack still
looking after Li Hua in secret and there’s a spirit who still stay beside her
forever. She never knew.
